Oscar da Silva, born on 21 September 1998 in Munich, has been playing basketball for FC Bayern for the first time since the 2024/25 season. The 2.06 metre power forward began his career at MTSV Schwabing and was named NBBL Player of the Year in 2017. He then transferred to Stanford University, where he studied biology and biochemistry and made a name for himself as a top performer in the NCAA.
da Silva started his professional career with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in 2021 before moving to Alba Berlin. He won the German championship and the cup with Alba in 2022. He also gained important international experience in the EuroLeague with Barcelona. He has been a regular member of the German national team squad since 2023. In 2024, he signed a long-term contract with FC Bayern until 2027 and immediately won the German championship.
