FC Bayern Youth Cup
The FC Bayern Youth Cup is the world's biggest and oldest international youth football tournament series carried out by a football club. In 2012 the tournament took place for the first time and has been conducted eight times since its start. In 2020, thanks to the support from BuntKicktGut, the project was conducted for the first time in Togo.
The national qualification already started mid of February. Beginning of March, two international FC Bayern youth coaches flew to the West African state on the Gulf of Guinea. Together with BuntKicktGut, the national final took place on 1 March in the capital Lomé in front of more than 3,000 spectators. Eight teams with ten players each took part. The ten winners were delighted with their ticket to the World Final! We are looking forward to welcoming "Team Togo" here in Munich!
In 2020, due to the COVID-19-Pandemic, the 9th consecutive edition of the Youth Cup sadly had to be rescheduled. We are hoping to bring the project back to Togo in 2021 and see the Togolese team compete in the world final.
