Leroy Sané has signed for FC Bayern, and the 24-year-old has set himself the challenge of contributing his proven outstanding ability to the German record champions’ cause. Eight trophies with Manchester City

In his four years with Manchester City, Sané picked up a total of eight trophies. He celebrated two league titles with the Citizens, as well as the FA Cup, three League Cups and two Community Shield victories.

First Champions League goal against Real Madrid

Sané is the third-youngest German goalscorer in the Champions League. He netted against Real Madrid in his first game in the competition, age the age of 19 years, one month and 27 days.

Sané was the third-fastest player in the 2018/19 Premier League season with a top speed of 35.2 km/h. In the previous season, he was clocked even faster at 35.48 km/h, a record in the league at the time. Across all competitions, Sané ranked eighth among the most efficient players in the top five European leagues in the 2018/19 season. In 47 competitive games, the Germany international scored 16 and assisted 17 goals. This means that the forward was directly involved in a goal every 82 minutes.

In 2018, Sané was voted PFA Young Player of the Year in the Premier League, claiming the honour ahead of the likes of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling.

City were stronger with him

Sané was in the starting XI for 30 of City’s 61 competitive fixtures in 2018/19, with his team scoring an average of 2.9 goals per game. Without Sané from the start, that tally stood at just 2.6. The team’s win rate with the forward was 83%, but only 80% without him.

Had a hand in third most goals

Before his injury, Sané scored 39 goals and contributed 42 assists in 134 competitive games for the six-time English champions. On average, he was directly involved in a goal every 110 minutes. Since his move in the summer of 2016, only Sergio Aguero (118) and Sterling (102) have been directly involved in more competitive Manchester City goals than Sané (81).

Assist reinforcement for Müller and Co.

Across the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons, no player in the Premier League had as many assists as Sané. The winger set up a total of 25 goals. By means of comparison, Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich both had 23 assists at FCB in the same period.
