Neuer: "We’re hugely proud and grateful"
Following on from the CEO, captain Manuel Neuer also had a few words for those present: “We’re hugely proud and grateful that all of you came here today to celebrate with us. The period that we’ve experienced as a team has been fantastic – we want to thank you for giving us these great conditions,” declared the 34-year-old.
Söder welcomes treble heroes at airport
Prior to making their way back to their home turf, the team had been given a fitting reception at the airport. The aircraft with the treble winners and the glittering trophy on board landed in Munich at 15:54 local time. After being greeted by water fountains, Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder congratulated coach Hansi Flick and his victorious team. “This is one of the most impressive Bayern teams we’ve ever seen. All of Bavaria is proud,” praised Söder.
