A brilliant and historic campaign has just come to an end for FC Bayern, who won the major treble of the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League for a second time in the club’s history. The celebrations are barely over but attention is already turning towards the new season.
First competitive match against Schalke on 18 September
The DFB Cup first round tie against 1. FC Düren, originally scheduled for 11 September, has been moved to 15 October, meaning Bayern’s first match of the 2020/21 season will be the Bundesliga opener against FC Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena on 18 September.
Cyber training on 8 September
It’s back to work for Manuel Neuer and Co on Tuesday 8 September. After coronavirus testing and the first cyber training session, radiological examinations and performance tests are on the agenda for the following two days. The treble winners will train together at Säbener Straße again for the first time on Friday 11 September.
UEFA Super Cup on 24 September
It will then be a case of continuing the outstanding form of recent months as quickly as possible, as there are already some big matches to look forward to at the start of the campaign. Just a few days after the Bundesliga curtain-raiser versus Schalke, FCB take on Europa League winners Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Thursday 23 September. Another trophy will be on the line the following Wednesday, 30 September, with the DFL Supercup against Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
