Bayern’s Esports team ended Matchday 3 in the KONAMI eFootball.Pro League with just a point from their clash against Celtic. FCB were beaten 3-2 in Game 1 despite twice equalising on Saturday. Game 2 saw Matthias Luttenberger’s team go 2-0 up but only end up with a 2-2 draw. “We played at a good level and deserved to get more points from it,” said an irked Miguel Mestre afterwards. With six games played, Bayern are now eighth in the table on six points, one ahead of Celtic.

Good play but defensive problems
Mestre, Jose Sanchez and Alex Alguacil combined well against the Scottish team and produced some fine football, but still had to cope with going behind twice in the first game. Both times they came back but missed out on the reward they deserved after one moment of carelessness in defence. The second game started better as Bayern took an early lead and then managed to double it after the break with excellent play. However, problems at the back meant they failed to see the advantage over the line. “We’ll keep working and do better next time,” promised Mestre. The next matchday is on 13 February against Roma.
