Curtain up for the definitive FC Bayern Munich documentary series. In partnership with Amazon Prime Video, the German record champions are providing fans with exclusive behind the scenes access. The cameras will follow Hansi Flick's team up close and take supporters to the very heart of the club: the historic successes of the previous season with the treble triumph and the German and European Super Cups, the upcoming Club World Cup, training sessions, road trips with Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and Co, in-depth conversations, executive committee meetings headed by Herbert Hainer, negotiations conducted at board level with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic, virtual or physical fan meetings, and the work of the team behind the team. Franz Beckenbauer, Uli Hoeneß and other legendary personalities feature in a comprehensive examination of the club’s past tradition, the present and the future. The documentary, to be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the autumn, brings people closer to the history and essence of the German record champions, identifying the factors that have distinguished FC Bayern down the years and will continue to do so in the future.
Chairman and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "With this documentary, we are proud to be telling the story of FC Bayern, because it is a great success story - from the rich historical tradition, via the present with its outstanding sporting successes, to our ambitious plans for the future. Especially now, with Corona unfortunately obliging us to keep our distance, this documentary is a wonderful opportunity for our fans to experience at first-hand what is going on in our team and at our club."
Board member Oliver Kahn: "This documentary is a great opportunity to expand FC Bayern's global presence. We can reach millions of people with our story and inspire them to follow us. FC Bayern boasts a fascinating history. The club has been setting standards in elite sport for decades and also has its sights firmly set on the future. We are always ready to break new ground. This documentary is another important step into the future of our club."
Managing Director Prime Video Germany Dr Christoph Schneider: "With our Amazon sports documentaries, we have created benchmarks in terms of access for sports fans. Now I'm delighted we’ll be taking Prime members up close to the mighty FC Bayern Munich and giving them unprecedented insights. With our partners from W&B Television, we’ll come closer to the German record champions and treble winners than ever before."
