121 years of FC Bayern means 121 years of great triumphs, emotion and passion. fcbayern.com presents the best facts in the history of the German record champions to mark the club's 121st anniversary on 27 February.

1. Record champions, Record cup winners, Record double winners

FC Bayern have won 30 championship titles, which makes them German record champions. Since the foundation of the Bundesliga in 1963, Munich have won more than half of the league titles (29 out of 57). Bayern won their first major honour in 1932. The Bavarians have lifted the DFB Cup 20 times, which makes them the most successful team in that competition by far, with their closest pursuers being Werder Bremen on six triumphs. FCB won their 13th domestic double in 2020. No other German team boasts more than one double. Schalke did it in 1937, 1. FC Köln in 1978, Bremen in 2004 and Borussia Dortmund in 2012.

2. The most successful seasons

Bayern set the record for the most points in a Bundesliga campaign in 2013, when they collected 91 under Jupp Heynckes. FCB won the historic treble of Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League that season, the only German team to achieve this feat to date. The treble triumph was repeated and even topped in the 2019/20 season. In February 2021, at the FIFA Club World Cup, FCB secured their sixth trophy within a year - a feat previously only achieved by Barcelona in 2009.

3. The fewest goals conceded

FC Bayern conceded just 17 goals in the 2015/16 campaign, another Bundesliga record.

4. The most goals

Bayern scored 101 goals in the 1971/72 season, the most in the Bundesliga's history. In the 120th anniversary season of 2019/20, the men from Munich were just one goal away from equalling this record.

5. Silverware collectors Müller, Ribery and Schweinsteiger

Franck Ribery farewell campaign in 2018/19 saw him bow out with a record-setting ninth Bundesliga title. By winning the league in 2019/20, Thomas Müller drew level with the Frenchman. Bastian Schweinsteiger has won seven DFB Cups, making him the most decotrated player in the competition.

6. The top scorer of all time

FCB legend Gerd Müller boasts the most goals in a Bundesliga campaign with 40. Der Bomber is the most prolific striker by far in Bundesliga history, having scored a whopping 365 goals in 427 matches. Klaus Fischer, lying second, has scored almost 100 fewer goals with 268 in 535 matches. Hot on his heels is Robert Lewandowski, who currently has 262 goals (as of 26 Feb 2021).

With these achievements, Gerd Müller is naturally assured a place in the FC Bayern Hall of Fame.

7. Trophy collector

Gerd Müller won seven top scorer trophies, another record. Lewandowski lies in second, having won five so far. The Bundesliga top scorers have been Bayern players in 19 seasons, followed by Dortmund and Köln (five campaigns each).

8. The most clean sheets

FC Bayern managed 22 shutouts in the 2014/15 campaign, a Bundesliga record. Manuel Neuer was in goal for 32 games that season. In the other two matches, Pepe Reina was between the posts - and he didn't concede a single goal.

9. Bayern's most frequent Bundesliga opponents

FC Bayern have taken on Werder Bremen in 109 matches, more often than any other opponent.

10. The most Bundesliga victories

FCB have beaten Hamburger SV and VfB Stuttgart 65 times, more often than any other opponents.

11. The most Bundesliga defeats

Bayern have suffered the most league defeats against Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach (both 26).

12.  The most Bundesliga goals

FC Bayern have scored 247 goals against Hamburg, more than against any other Bundesliga opponent.

With a total of 31 goals, Gerd Müller is of course the record scorer in clashes between FCB and HSV.

13. The most Bundesliga goals conceded

The men from Munich have conceded 130 goals against Gladbach, more than against any other opponent.

14. Landmark victory

FC Bayern's 4-0 win over Köln in October 2015 was their 1,000th Bundesliga victory.

15. The most Bundesliga matches

FCB goalkeeping legend Sepp Maier made the most Bundesliga appearances (473, 442 of them in a row!).

Maier played an incredible 442 consecutive games in goal for FCB. Germany's Goalkeeper of the Century is one of two goalkeepers in the FC Bayern Hall of Fame, alongside Oliver Kahn.

16. The player with the most Bundesliga victories

Thomas Müller has recorded the most victories in the Bundesliga with FC Bayern. The veteran has racked up 270 wins so far - and there's no end in sight.

17. Mia san international

Players from 43 different nations (including Germany) have made appearances for the German record champions since being promoted to the Bundesliga in 1965.

18. Record holder

Ribery is the non-German player with the most appearances for FC Bayern. The Frenchman made 425 competitive appearances for FCB, scoring 124 goals

19. The FC Bayern coaches

24 coaches (including interim coaches) have had a total of 31 spells at Bayern since the foundation of the Bundesliga. Treble-winning boss Jupp Heynckes has had the most spells (four). Ottmar Hitzfeld has taken charge of the most competitive matches (444), with Udo Lattek (414) lying second. Hitzfeld also oversaw the most competitive victories (268), followed by Heynckes (256) and Lattek (255). Lattek won six Bundesliga titles with FC Bayern, more than any other coach.
