The final game of this year is a particularly special one for Thomas Müller as the Bayern youth product makes his 400th Bundesliga appearance in Friday’s match against Wolfsburg. And, unsurprisingly, the man himself has a clear idea of how the evening should go: “400th Bundesliga game? Then we need a win. I’ll then put it under the Christmas tree,“ the 32-year-old said smiling.
Müller with most wins by an outfield player
“We’ll have a rest because I can do with a good break before going again in the new year,” continued Müller, who knows the feeling of winning better than few others in the Bundesliga. The forward has won 292 of his 399 top-flight games to date, having passed Manfred Kaltz (291) during the week for most victories by an outfield player in the Bundesliga.
Only goalkeepers Oliver Kahn (310) and Manuel Neuer (306) have been victorious in more Bundesliga games. However, no player has recorded more wins with just one club than Müller, who has only ever represented Bayern at senior level.
