Reception for champions at Säbener Straße

Applause for the champions of Germany: With the outdoor temperature at nine degrees and persistent rain falling at Säbener Straße, members of staff provided an extremely warm reception for Julian Nagelsmann, his coaching staff and the team: When the squad left the changing rooms at 11:15 CEST on Tuesday morning ahead of the open training session, the champions were greeted with a guard of honour from the FC Bayern U23s with coach Martín Demichelis after having sealed the league title on Saturday with the 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund. In addition, all the fans present and the staff at the windows of the training centre also applauded – the whole of FC Bayern is once again proud of their team!

Julian Nagelsmann: "A big compliment goes to the team, the tenth league title in succession is outstanding."

"A big compliment to every member of staff. Everybody has played their part – on the ground floor, in the first or second floor. Thank you very much for all your work," said Julian Nagelsmann to the staff using a megaphone. "A big compliment also goes to the team, the tenth league title in succession is outstanding. I'm also proud, it's the first title for my coaching team and for me," said the championship-winning coach ahead of training. Captain Manuel Neuer also spoke: "Many thanks first of all to the U23s for the guard of honour. I'm incredibly proud and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support this year. We'll have another go next season."

The club invited all members of staff to a communal, hearty white sausage breakfast at the Casino – also there were president Herbert Hainer, CEO Oliver Kahn and executive vice chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen. Together with Julian Nagelsmann and the staff they raised a glass to the historic tenth Bundesliga title in succession.

Lewandowski, Müller, Upamecano and Coman absent

At the open training session, head coach Nagelsmann had to manage without Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller due to colds plus Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman (both rested). The champions of Germany are next in action on Saturday away to FSV Mainz 05 with the kick off at 15:30 CEST.
