Season opener: Champions Bayern visit Eintracht Frankfurt
The number 11 has a special meaning in football – and especially so for FC Bayern in the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, as the reigning champions are aiming for their 11th straight league in the new season. The fixture plan for this historic mission has now been released. The German Football League (DFL) announced the schedule for the 60th top-flight season on Friday afternoon: FC Bayern kick off the campaign on Friday 5 August at 20:30 CEST in the opening match at Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt.
Tickets for all fixtures can now be requested via our online ticket shop.
First home game vs. Wolfsburg
Coach Julian Nagelsmann's team will play their first home match the following week against VfL Wolfsburg (12-14.08.22). The clash of Titans against runners-up Borussia Dortmund comes relatively early Matchday 9: the champions travel to face BVB on the weekend of 7-9 October 2022. The latest edition of the Bundesliga’s most-played fixture against promoted Werder Bremen is on Matchday 14 (08.-09.11.22).
FCB play their last match of 2022 just one week later on Matchday 15 (11-13.11.22) with the trip to Bundesliga 2 champions Schalke 04. After that, the league takes an extended winter break to accommodate the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022. The men from Munich emerge from the break with a bang: FCB return to action on the weekend of 20-22 January 2023 with an away trip to DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig, before the first half of the schedule comes to an end just three days later in the midweek meeting with FC Köln (24/25.01.23). Bayern then host Frankfurt (27-29.01.23) at the Allianz Arena to kick off the second half of the season.
Season finale in Köln
After the final home match against RB Leipzig on Matchday 33 (19-21.05.23), Bayern's league season ends on Saturday 27 May 2022 with the reverse fixture against Köln. As usual, all the games on Matchday 34 will kick off simultaneously on Saturday at 15:30 CEST. The schedule will only be finalised in the course of the season and is primarily dependent on the commitments of the Champions League and Europa League hopefuls. The DFL will announce the exact kick-off times of the first few matchdays in the coming weeks.
