Five FC Bayern players have the chance to pick up one of the coveted awards at this year's Ballon d'Or. French magazine France Football, which has issued the prestigious award for the best footballer of the year since 1956, announced the shortlists of candidates for the voting on Friday evening. Joshua Kimmich and Sadio Mané are among the 30 nominees for the main Ballon d'Or prize.
Neuer nominated for Yashin Trophy, Musiala & Gravenberch for Kopa Trophy
Bayern captain Manuel Neuer is one of the 10 contenders for the Yashin Trophy, the award given to the best goalkeeper of the year. The FCB number one came fifth in the 2021 vote. The German record champions are also represented on the shortlist for the Kopa Trophy, with Jamal Musiala and Ryan Gravenberch both nominated for the award for the best young player of the past year. Musiala was third in last year's vote.
Mané and Lewandowski in top 10 for UEFA player of the year
UEFA also announced the top 15 in the vote for the UEFA Men's Player of the Year on Friday. Sadio Mané finished in sixth place, while Robert Lewandowski, who recently moved from Bayern to Barcelona, came fourth. The three finalists are Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne.
