It's the first Saturday evening match of the new season for FC Bayern and it's a tough one! As league leaders, the Munich team host second-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena at 18:30 CEST on Bundesliga Matchday 4. Coach Julian Nagelsmann had given his team two days off after the 7-0 goal fest at VfL Bochum and on Wednesday morning, the Bavarians started their preparation for the top-of-the-table clash against Gladbach.
Musiala, Davies and Choupo-Moting back in team training
There was some good news regarding team selection. Alphonso Davies (muscular problems) and Jamal Musiala (strain), who missed out against Bochum, as well as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (following kidney stone surgery) returned to team training. They had trained individually on Monday and Tuesday.
After the warm-up with stabilisation exercises, the team training session on Wednesday focused on some tactical game play situations. In Saturday's top-of-the-table clash against Gladbach, Bayern will be looking to replicate their outstanding performance and great enthusiasm for the game, which has seen them score 20 goals in four competitive matches. Should that happen, the scene will be set for a fourth win in the fourth league match and also the continuation of an impressive top-of-the-table clash run:
