None of Sadio Mane, Noussair Mazraoui or Alphonso Davies were able to get a win on the final day of the international break. Mane and Senegal played out a 1-1 draw with Iran, Mazraoui and Morocco had a goalless game with Paraguay, and Davies and Canada were beaten 2-0 by Uruguay. All three Bayern players featured for the full 90 minutes of their respective matches.
1-1 draw for Mane’s Senegal
World Cup participants Senegal and Iran drew 1-1 in Austria after an own goal from Iran’s Morteza Pouraliganji and a strike from Bayer Leverkusen’s Sardar Azmoun. Bayern forward Mane played the full 90 minutes up front in Maria Enzersdorf. The Lions of Teranga are in Group A at the World Cup, facing hosts Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands.
Preparing for the World Cup
Mazraoui’s Morocco will also be present in Qatar in November, taking on Belgium, Croatia and Canada in Group F. There were no goals as the North Africans faced Paraguay in Sevilla, but the Bayern right-back did get a full 90 minutes under his belt.
Group rivals Canada also continued their preparations for Qatar against fellow World Cup qualifiers Uruguay. Davies was used further forward but was unable to prevent a 2-0 defeat in Bratislava. Nicolas de la Cruz and Darwin Nunez got the goals for Uruguay.
