Lucas Hernandez commended running training again on Friday for the first time since the FC Bayern defender tore a muscle in his left groin in the Champions League game against Barcelona in September. He has since been working on his comeback and now taken the next step.
Müller, Gnabry, de Ligt, Davies and Schenk train
Despite Friday actually being a day off from training, there were other players out working at Säbener Straße. Thomas Müller had gone off with an issue in the 4-2 win at Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday but was doing laps around the training ground in the morning. Matthijs de Ligt, Serge Gnabry, Alphonso Davies - who were all absent at Plzen - and goalkeeper Johannes Schenk all trained with head coach Julian Nagelsmann, assistant Dino Toppmöller and head of fitness Prof. Dr. Holger Broich. Bayern are back in action on Sunday when they host second-placed Freiburg at the Allianz Arena.
