Several FC Bayern players will be involved with their national teams at the 2022 World Cup. In club magazine ‘51’, our boys reveal who we should look out for from their sides, how they rate their chances and who their favourites are. Part 5 is Josip Stanisic for Croatia.
Interview with Josip Stanisic:
How do you rate your chances?
Stanisic: “We’re going into the tournament with plenty of confidence as runners-up [in 2018]. I think a lot is possible for us if we find ourselves as a team and grow yet further during the World Cup.”

What’s special about your team?
“We’re a unit and all get on really well. I think you see that when we’re on the pitch playing together.”
Which player from your team should fans particularly watch out for?
“All eyes are obviously on Luka Modric. But our midfield in general is among the best in world football with him, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic. It’s really remarkable. Those three players are our core and you should watch out for them.”
Who are the favourites for you and why?
“I think the favourites are Argentina and Brazil. Both teams have amazing players in their ranks and have been getting results recently. So, I think both are going into the tournament feeling good.”
