FC Bayern honours long-serving members at Allianz Arena

“We will invite all our long-serving members to a match in our Allianz Arena to thank them once again for their extraordinary loyalty,” Herbert Hainer promised at the tribute day in November 2021, which could only take place digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The FC Bayern president kept his promise - and so 1,350 members sat inside the Allianz Arena last Saturday for the club’s 6-2 victory over Mainz.

Herbert Hainer and the members who were honoured for their extraordinary loyalty had a lot to cheer about on Saturday.

1,350 special members accept invitation

A total of 2,164 members who have been loyal to Bayern for 35, 50, 60 or even 70 years were invited. The fans present experienced an unforgettable day in FC Bayern's home in late summer temperatures with several highlights. President Hainer and Walter Mennekes, the 2nd vice-president of FC Bayern München eV, welcomed the members to the stands and cheered the goals of Serge Gnabry & Co. side by side with them.

Ahead of kick-off, Bayern legends Giovane Elber, Raimond Aumann and Hansi Pflügler also welcomed the members to their seats, who were of course presented with an FC Bayern all-round carefree package and commemorative scarves. Heiner Jüngling, the man with membership number 1, was presented with a number 1 jersey by Hainer and Mennekes- on behalf of the other honourees.
