Touchdown in Munich! Seahawks complete first training session at Säbener Straße

"On our way to Munich" was the message the Seahawks posted in German on Thursday morning, accompanied by a photo of their German linebacker Aaron Donkor, who was decked out in style for the trip in an FC Bayern jersey. On Thursday afternoon at 16:16 CET, the moment had arrived: The Seattle Seahawks started their first training session on German soil at Säbener Straße. Welcome to Munich!

Up against Brady's Buccaneers on Sunday

Under the watchful gaze of FC Bayern board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić and FCB Legend and Seahawks fan Claudio Pizarro ("Unbelievable how big they are!"), the players threw themselves into it on the FCB pitch. With loud beats and songs like "California Love" booming out of the speakers on the grass, the players on the field were in high spirits as they prepared for Sunday's match against Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Allianz Arena (15:30 CET). The next session at Säbener Straße will take place on Friday.

Division leaders in the NFL

The franchise from the US state of Washington, which according to NFL data is the second most popular NFL team after the New England Patriots, is coached by Pete Carroll and is currently in first place in the NFC West division after six wins and three defeats. Fans in Germany can especially look forward to seeing the 2014 Super Bowl winners' quarterback Geno Smith and wide receiver DK Metcalf.
