2023 is here – now including on the turf for the FC Bayern players. One day after the performance tests, head coach Julian Nagelsmann welcomed his players to the training pitch at Säbener Straße for the first time with a chilly temperature of six degrees. The targets in the New Year could not be bigger as Thomas Müller & Co. are looking for the eleventh league title in succession as well as having their eyes on bringing the DFB Cup and the highly prized Champions League (Round of 16 tie at PSG on 14 February) to Munich again.

There are another two sessions in Munich before the training camp in Doha. In the first training session on Wednesday, Serge Gnabry was the first player on the training ground at 11.27 CET with Leon Goretzka, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and a number of second team and U19 players following on in high spirits. The sun was also shining for Nagelsmann’s team with the first training session focusing on positional play, moves involving several goals and runs plus the tactics board also making an appearance.
After the intense time in Qatar, there will be one friendly against RB Salzburg (13 January at the FC Bayern Campus) and the first competitive match against RB Leipzig (20 January away in the Bundesliga).
