What awaits FC Bayern in January

Start of preparation on 3 January

Looking forward to the new year: Head coach Julian Nagelsmann can't wait for the start of training with his team.

FC Bayern's preparation for the second half of the season starts on 3 January. To start off with, the team led by Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich and Co. will have their first medical checks and performance diagnostics. Just a day later, Bayern will take to the training pitch at Säbener Straße for the first time in 2023.

Training Camp in Doha

On 6 January, the league leaders will head to their training camp in Doha until 12 January. The men from Munich will prepare in Qatar for the upcoming tasks in the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Champions League.

Friendly at the FC Bayern Campus

Clear-cut affair: In the last clash against FC Red Bull Salzburg, Bayern celebrated an emphatic 7-1 victory.

A real acid test awaits the Munich side with a friendly against Red Bull Salzburg. On 13 January (18:00 CET), FC Bayern will host the reigning Austrian champions at the FC Bayern Campus for a rematch of last year's Champions League round of 16 tie.

Bundesliga opener at Leipzig

Just a week later, Bayern will again be looking to pick up important points in the fight for their eleventh consecutive Bundesliga title. The German record champions will kick off the season on Friday, 20 January, with a challenging game at RB Leipzig. Just four days later, the first competitive home match of the new year will take place at the Allianz Arena. On Tuesday, 24 January at 20:30 CET, FCB then host 1. FC Köln to wrap up the Hinrunde in the Bundesliga. The next home game is already scheduled for the following Saturday, 28 January, at 18:30 CET, when Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt travel to Munich to kick off the Rückrunde.
