Alphonso Davies has a chance to defend his CONCACAF Men’s Player of the Year title after being named among the six nominees for the 2022 award. The Bayern left-back was previously voted the best player in North and Central America for 2021. This year the Canadian is up against Tyler Adams (USA, Leeds United), Andre Blake (Jamaica, Philadelphia Union), Jonathan David (Canada, Lille), Guillermo Ochoa (Mexico, Salernitana) and Christian Pulisic (USA, Chelsea).

Voting for the CONCACAF Player of the Year sees the head coaches and captains of the confederation’s 41 member associations’ men’s national teams each given one vote. Nine votes will come from selected media representatives from the CONCACAF region, while fan votes will also equate to nine votes.
