France with Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman as well as Switzerland with Yann Sommer remain unbeaten in qualifying for next summer's European Championship in Germany. Find out how the trio got on with their national teams in our round-up.
Upamecano and Coman start
France made it four wins from four in qualifying for EURO 2024. The World Cup runners-up beat Greece 1-0 at the Stade de France on Monday evening to extend their lead at the top of Group B. Bayern defender Upamecano played the full game, while Coman came off after 77 minutes. Benjamin Pavard was an unused substitute having started the 3-0 win over Gibraltar on Friday.
Coman almost set up Jules Koundé for the opening goal before half-time but Greece's Stuttgart-born goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos made a strong save. It was Kylian Mbappé who eventually scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. The French resume their campaign against Republic of Ireland on 7 September.
Sommer concedes last-gasp equaliser
It's so far, so good for Switzerland, who top Group I of EURO qualifying with 10 points from four matches. However, their latest outing in Luzern against Romania did not leave the Nati smiling as a late brace from Valentin Mihaila saw the visitors snatch a 2-2 draw. Zeki Amdouni's first-half double had put Murat Yakin's men two goals in front at the break. FCB goalkeeper Sommer was between the posts for the whole game.
