Dōmo arigatō, Tokyo! FC Bayern’s last day in the Japanese metropolis on their Audi Summer Tour centred around the Audi Football Summit against Kawasaki Frontale. Alongside the friendly match in the National Stadium, the schedule featured an event with fans from all over Asia, as well as a meeting with the Japanese Football Association (JFA). fcbayern.com shares an overview.
Event with fan clubs from all over Asia
Deputy chairman Dr. Michael Diederich, vice president Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer, as well as club legends Giovane Élber and Claudio Pizarro met with approximately 100 representatives of fan clubs from all over Asia in the morning. FCB supporters from Japan, China and Korea had travelled to Tokyo to celebrate the FC Bayern togetherness in “Schmatz Ginza” in the centre of Tokyo.
Bayern delegation meets JFA representatives
President Herbert Hainer and board member Andreas Jung met Tashima Kohzo and Aratani Jun, representatives of the Japanese Football Association (JFA), in the afternoon. As a part of the Audi Football Summit against Kawasaki Frontale in the evening, members of FC Bayern's executive and management boards exchanged views with representatives of the JFA and Kawasaki Frontale.
Fan Festival prior to the Audi Football Summit
Long before kick-off in the Audi Football Summit, plenty of action and entertainment was on offer around the National Stadium in Tokyo. Supporters of both teams celebrated a colourful fan festival on the esplanade in front of the arena. Just like the previous friendly against Manchester City, FC Bayern were present with several booths. Club Legends Giovane Élber and Claudio Pizarro were available for selfies with the fans and the Bundesliga trophy, and to sign countless autographs.
Audi Football Summit vs. Kawasaki Frontale
To round off their trip to Tokyo, FC Bayern encountered Kawasaki Frontale in the Audi Football Summit. It was a back-and-forth test against the Japanese J1-League team. In the end Bayern prevailed 1-0 thanks to a goal from Josip Stanišić.
