Germany draw with Mexico
In the second match of their trip to the US, Germany drew 2-2 (1-1) with Mexico early on Wednesday morning. In front of 62,284 spectators at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané were in Julian Nagelsmann's starting XI, while Leon Goretzka came off the bench at the start of the second half. After Antonio Rüdiger put his team ahead in the 25th minute, the Mexicans turned the game around with goals from Uriel Antuna (37') and Erick Sanchez (47') before Niclas Füllkrug levelled the score shortly afterwards (51').
Kane fires England to Euro 2024
Thanks to a brace from their captain, England have booked their ticket to the 2024 European Championship in Germany. In the 3-1 (1-1) win over defending champions Italy, the Bayern striker played the full 90 minutes and his 32nd-minute penalty cancelled out the visitors' early lead through Giovanni di Lorenzo (15'). Following a Marcus Rashford strike (57') which swung the game in the Three Lions' favour, Kane (77') wrapped up the win after an impressive solo run. With 16 points and a positive head-to-head over rivals Ukraine and Italy, England can be sure of top spot in European Championship qualifying Group C.
Coman scores in friendly against Scotland
Kingsley Coman wrapped things up. The Bayern winger scored to make it 4-1 (3-1) in the French team's friendly win against Scotland in Lille. Coman came off the bench in the 64th minute and just six minutes later (70) put away a rebound after teammate Antoine Griezmann had struck the crossbar. Before that, long-serving FCB player Benjamin Pavard (16', 24') and Kylian Mbappé (41', pen.) scored for the Équipe Tricolore, after Billy Gilmour (11') had given the visitors the lead earlier.
Kim kicks off South Korea's scoring spree
Thanks in part to a goal from their defensive giant Minjae Kim, the South Korean national team celebrated an emphatic 6-0 (2-0) friendly win over Vietnam. The Bayern player headed the team coached by Germany's Jürgen Klinsmann into the lead in the 5th minute, while Hee-Chan Hwang (27'), Vo Minh Trong (50' o.g.) Heung-Min Son (60'), Kang-In Lee (70') and former Bayern player Woo-Yeong Jeong (86') provided the other goals.
