After the German Football League scheduled the fixtures for the coming weeks, it's confirmed that the FC Bayern AGM will take place on 12 November, the day after the home match against 1. FC Heidenheim, in the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle from 11:00 CET. The club hopes for good attendance from its members – after all, dialogue with its fans is important to FC Bayern. That could be seen recently in Leipzig, when president Herbert Hainer held an away members' Stammtisch for the second time.
Hainer: A lovely afternoon
The knight's armour was adorned with an FC Bayern Wiesn heart around the breastplate: the atmosphere was historic as president Herbert Hainer made himself available to answer questions in the Ratskeller of the new town hall, which was built around 1900 - the same time FC Bayern was founded. 65 members had turned up, drawn from more than 400 registrations. "It was a lovely afternoon," summed up Hainer, who after introductory words spent two hours moving from table to table to exchange ideas. "Our members really appreciate that we, as a club, seek out conversation - and it's important for us to find out what moves people in their respective regions."
From Harry Kane to the financial strength of their European rivals, to praise for the "Red Against Racism" initiative - the range of questions covered all areas of the club. Many wanted to know what the plans with Mathys Tel were, and Hainer clarified that the Frenchman was "one of the greatest striking talents in Europe". Looking at the Campus, the president praised Frans Krätzig ("we'll have a lot of joy with him") and expressed confidence that new sporting director Christoph Freund would bring in interesting talents as well as seasoned professionals. On the subject of Kane, Hainer explained that the top British star had been keen to move to FC Bayern because he wanted to win titles ("that was our biggest trump card"), to which the audience exclaimed: "This transfer was the best decision in recent years!" Finally, Hainer gave away tickets for the game against Leipzig and promised: "FC Bayern will never leave its path - with fans like you by our side." There was much applause for this from those present.
The members' Stammtisch has proven to be one of many formats for further optimising the dialog with members and fans. The club wants to listen and discuss things together - not least with a view to the annual general meeting. FC Bayern organised its first away members' Stammtisch ahead of the glorious final matchday of last season in Cologne. The next one is scheduled for October 17 in Salzburg. In addition to Hainer, Benny Folkmann, managing director of FC Bayern München eV, and Markus Meindl, head of the fan and fan club support department, were also on hand to provide information. The regional FC Bayern fan club meeting in Saxony had already taken place the day before. At the Feldschlösschen headquarters in Dresden, Meindl and his team discussed current topics with around 40 fan club chairmen from the surrounding area for two hours.
