Two days after the 8-0 Bundesliga victory over Darmstadt, Bayern welcomed around 2,400 fans to an open training at Säbener Straße on Monday morning – and spirits were clearly high. With the sun shining and temperatures a comfortable 15 degrees Celsius, Manuel Neuer and his team started by signing autographs and mingling with the crowd, whose joy was clear to see.
Preparations for Saarbrücken
The players then got down to business with a number of games and drills as they began their preparations for Wednesday’s DFB Cup second-round tie away at Saarbrücken. Those players who featured for most of Saturday’s match took part in half the session out on the pitch before going into the performance centre.
Upamecano & Co. return
With a young crowd in attendance on the first day of school holidays in Bavaria, they saw the return of Serge Gnabry (fractured arm), Dayot Upamecano, Raphael Guerreiro (both muscular) and Leon Goretzka (broken hand) to action. However, Kingsley Coman (ankle issue), Leroy Sane (workload management), Jamal Musiala, Noussair Mazraoui (both ill) and Sven Ulreich (individual session) were all not involved.
