Having had the weekend off after the postponement of the Bundesliga game at home to Union Berlin, FC Bayern turned their attentions to next Saturday’s league trip to Eintracht Frankfurt in training on Tuesday. The Union game had been called off due to heavy snowfall in Munich and will now be played on Wednesday, 24 January.
Open training on Sunday
Despite the continued wintery conditions, the efforts of the groundsmen and the undersoil heating meant the pitch was ready for the first session of the week. There were also works being carried around Säbener Straße to make the grounds ready for Sunday morning’s open training session.
Almost full squad
Coach Thomas Tuchel got his team sweating in the icy temperatures over the almost 90-minute session. After warming up and some small matches, the players would break into passing drills. The whole squad was involved apart from Matthijs de Ligt, who was working alone as he recovers from a knee injury, and Bouna Sarr (cruciate ligament tear).
