After ending the year with a 2-1 win at Wolfsburg, the Christmas break has begun for the FC Bayern first team. Here we give you an overview of when Thomas Tuchel's men are back to work and what's on the agenda in the preparations for the second half of the season.
First open training on 2 January
Bayern will hold their first training session of the new year on Tuesday 2 January at 16:00 CET – and it will be open to the public! Fans can watch Harry Kane and Co limbering up in person at Säbener Straße, while the session will also be streamed LIVE and for free on the club's digital channels.
Friendly at Basel on 6 January
The dress rehearsal for the resumption of competitive action awaits the German record champions on 6 January, when they'll take on 20-time Swiss champions FC Basel in a friendly at St-Jakob-Park at 15:30 CET. Six days later, Bayern resume their Bundesliga campaign against Hoffenheim.
Team building in Portugal
The club has also decided to spend a few days in warmer climes after the Hoffenheim game. From 14 to 18 January, Tuchel and his team will hold a training camp in Faro, Portugal, where the focus will be on team building as well as the training.
Three games in seven days
Following the training camp, the Bavarians face their first busy week of the year with the home match against Werder Bremen (21 January), the rearranged clash with Union Berlin (24 January) and the away fixture at Augsburg (27 January).
Fan club visits on 28 January
Having been postponed earlier this month due to heavy snowfall in Bavaria, the traditional fan club visits will now take place on 28 January as part of a New Year's reception, one day after the Augsburg match.
