How FC Bayern's loan players fared during last season - part 2

Around 28 players from the German record champions were loaned out to various clubs throughout Europe last season. With the campaign now over, fcbayern.com takes a look back at the performances of the German record champions' youngsters.

Paul Wanner can look back on an impressive season with SV Elversberg. The 18-year-old playmaker finished the season in an impressive 11th place with the Saarland side. The attacking midfielder contributed six goals and three assists in 28 competitive appearances. Wanner, the German record champions' youngest Bundesliga player to date, joined FC Bayern in 2018 and has featured in six league matches for the men from Munich.

Hyunju Lee (since July 2023: SV Wehen Wiesbaden)

Last season, Hyunju Lee was loaned out to Wehen Wiesbaden, who had just been promoted to the second tier. The central midfielder made 31 appearances for the Hessian side in all competitions. Unfortunately, the 21-year-old and his teammates went straight back down to the third division after losing out to Jahn Regensburg in the relegation play-off. The South Korean joined FC Bayern from Pohang Steelers in 2022.

Lenn Jastremski (since January 2024: Grazer AK 1902)

It was a successful season for Lenn Jastremski! The centre-forward ended the campaign as champion with Austrian second division club Grazer AK and secured promotion to the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old made 15 appearances, with the Salzgitter-born striker scoring five goals and setting up two more. In the 1-0 win that clinched promotion, Jastremski scored the crucial goal.

David Herold (since July 2023: Karlsruher SC)

David Herold made 23 appearances for Karlsruher SC last season, playing a major part in the club's impressive fifth-place finish. The left-back scored one goal and provided one assist. At the end of the campaign, KSC took up the buy option for the 21-year-old, who has now signed a permanent contract with the club.

Yusuf Kabadayi (since August 2023: Schalke 04)

Yusuf Kabadayi also made 23 appearances in Bundesliga 2 last season. The 20-year-old forward, who joined the Royal Blues in the summer of 2023, scored four goals. Kabadayi saw action in all of the last 11 games and played a major role in helping the side avoid the drop in what was a nerve-wracking relegation battle.

Johannes Schenk (since July 2023: Preußen Münster)

After four years in the FC Bayern youth setup, Johannes Schenk spent last season at third-division club Preußen Münster. The goalkeeper made eight league appearances and was also between the posts twice in the Landespokal (regional cup) and once in the DFB Cup (in a 4-0 defeat to FC Bayern). The 21-year-old stopper ended the season by sensationally clinching promotion to Bundesliga 2 with Münster.

Jamie Lawrence (since July 2022, 2nd season, 1. FC Magdeburg)

Jamie Lawrence has been on loan at 1. FC Magdeburg since the summer of 2022. Last season, the centre-back made 11 league appearances and celebrated avoiding the drop with Magdeburg after they ended the season in 14th place. Born in Munich, he moved from Kirchheimer SC to the German record champions' youth setup in 2017.

The 1.83-metre tall defender moved to the FC Bayern Campus from Celtic's youth academy in 2019 and has made 24 appearances in the Regionalliga for the FC Bayern reserves to date.

Barry Hepburn (since January 2024: DSV Leoben)

Barry Hepburn has been playing for Austrian second division club DSV Leoben since January and has made ten appearances. Leoben finished the season in fourth place, but were not granted a licence for the 2024/25 season by the sports court and were therefore relegated to the Regionalliga. Hepburn had a spell in the Scottish second division with Queens Park until the winter break, where he scored two goals and set up another in 14 appearances.

Leon Fust (since January 2024: SKU Amstetten)

Leon Fust has been on loan at SKU Amstetten in the Austrian second division since the winter break. In 15 games, the defender scored one goal and set up another. Despite Amstetten finishing the campaign in last place, as Leoben and FC Mohren Dornbirn were not granted a licence for the second tier, the team from Amstetten were still able to celebrate avoiding the drop.

Benjamin Dibrani (since August 2023: Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz)

After making two appearances for the FC Bayern reserves in the Regionalliga Bayern at the start of the season, Benjamin Dibrani also spent the rest of the term in the Austrian second tier. The 20-year-old made a total of 17 appearances for Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz, setting up two goals in the process. Dibrani ended the campaign in 11th place with his side.

Born in Munich, he joined the German record champions back in 2012 and has since played for the club at every youth team level.

Luka Parkadze (since August 2023: FC Flyeralarm Admira)

Due to injury, Luka Parkadze only made one appearance in the Austrian second division last season. The Georgian finished the campaign in seventh place with FC Flyeralarm Admira. The 19-year-old moved from Dinamo Tbilisi to the Bavarian capital last summer.
