Manuel Neuer makes 500th Bundesliga appearance

Manuel Neuer has reached yet another milestone in his remarkable career after he made his 500th Bundesliga appearance in Bayern’s game against Wolfsburg on Sunday. The goalkeeper has played 344 of those for the Munich side, after his first 156 for boyhood club Schalke. The 38-year-old is only the fourth goalkeeper to reach that total in the German top flight after Oliver Kahn (557), Eike Immel (534) and Uli Stein (512).

Titles and records for Neuer at Bayern

Manuel Neuer FC Bayern treble

Manuel Neuer was part of the Bayern team that won the treble for the first time in 2013.

Neuer has so far amassed a collection of 29 titles during his 13 years with Bayern, including the treble of Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League twice (2013 and 2020). The now club captain has also earned numerous individual awards, such as Germany’s Footballer of the Year (2011 and 2014), Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper (2020) and IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper of the Decade (2011–2020).

Neuer is the most decorated goalkeeper in Bundesliga history with 11 league titles (Kahn ranks second with eight), while only teammate Thomas Müller has been champion in Germany more times. The FCB No.1 holds the Bundesliga record for most clean sheets in a season (21 in 2015/16). The Gelsenkirchen native is also the only goalkeeper with over 100 appearances in the Bundesliga to have conceded fewer goals (423 – pre-Wolfsburg) than games he’s played (499 – also pre-Wolfsburg).

Neuer brought up his 500th competitive appearance for Bayern in January:
