Season finale in the Kraichgau: The facts ahead of TSG Hoffenheim vs. FC Bayern

In Saturday's away match at TSG Hoffenheim (kick-off 15:30 CEST), Bayern are hoping to celebrate a successful end to the season. And the Bavarians are experts in this field, as they've repeatedly proven in recent years, winning on the final day in 17 of the last 20 Bundesliga campaigns (D2 L1). Now the German record champions want to sign off for the summer break with a victory once again! fcbayern.com has picked out the pertinent facts and figures on the fixture.

FCB aiming for Hoffenheim double

Bayern won 3-0 at home to Hoffenheim in the first half of the season.

Following the 3-0 home win over TSG in the first half of the season, Bayern can do the league double over the Kraichgau outfit for the first time since the 2018/19 campaign. Despite that, the Reds are unbeaten in their last six league meetings with Hoffenheim (W4 D2) and also have a clear lead in the overall record with 20 wins in 31 encounters (D7 L4).

High-scoring finale guaranteed?

Bayern and Hoffenheim have certainly provided entertainment this season. The rivals on Saturday are the two teams whose matches have produced the most goals after 33 matchdays of this Bundesliga campaign, with 133 in games involving the record champions and 126 with TSG.

Kane set to receive cannon

Harry Kane scored his 36th goal of the season on his last appearance at Stuttgart – in just 32 games!

Harry Kane scored his 36th goal of the season on his last appearance at Stuttgart – in just 32 games!

On the subject of goals: Harry Kane has a ten-goal lead (36) over Serhou Guirassy (26) in the goalscoring chart going into the final matchday. Therefore, there's really no doubt that the 30-year-old will become the first Englishman to win the Bundesliga's top scorer cannon award. This will be the sixth time that a player has managed to do it in their debut season, but no debutant in Germany's top flight has ever scored as many goals as Kane. On top of that, it will be the 22nd time that an FC Bayern player is the top goalscorer, by far a record.

Müller drawing level with Maier

Another record hunter for Bayern is Thomas Müller. The born-and-bred Bavarian could make his 473rd league appearance for his beloved club at Hoffenheim, which would see the forward equal Sepp Maier as FCB's record appearance maker in the Bundesliga.

Thomas Müller in the Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg

Thomas Müller featured for FC Bayern in the Bundesliga for the 472nd time in the 2-0 win over Wolfsburg last weekend – now he could equal a record.

Tuchel likes TSG

FCB coach Thomas Tuchel has collected no fewer than 33 points in 16 Bundesliga encounters with Hoffenheim to date – more than he has against any other club in the competition.

Hoffenheim on verge of unwanted record

Since a 2-0 win over FC Schalke 04 in April 2023, Hoffenheim have gone 19 Bundesliga home games wthout a clean sheet at the PreZero Arena. If Bayern also find the net in Sinsheim, TSG would become only the third club in Bundesliga history to go a whole season without a clean sheet at home. This has only previously happened to Rot-Weiss Essen in 1973/74 and VfB Stuttgart in 2021/22.
