FC Bayern striker Harry Kane is into the quarter-finals of the European Championship with England. The Brits defeated Slovakia 2-1 after extra time in their last-16 tie on early Sunday evening. Kane led the team as captain as usual and scored the winning goal in the first minute of extra time, sending the Three Lions through to the last eight, where they'll meet Switzerland in Düsseldorf this Saturday at 18:00 CEST.
"It was tough but we kept going," said Kane at full time. "We work on so many details throughout the week. It was an unbelievable goal from Jude. The support was quality."
England fell behind in the 25th minute in Gelsenkirchen through Ivan Schranz's strike. Gareth Southgate's side improved in the second half but it took until the fifth minute of added time for Jude Bellingham to level the score with an overhead kick.
Extra time then started perfectly for the Three Lions: not even a minute had been played when Kane headed in the winner following a free kick. The FCB forward was then substituted in the 106th minute and watched his team see out the narrow victory.
Five of Kane's Bayern teammates are also in the quarter-finals with Germany:
