FC Bayern have given 18-year-old full-back Matteo Pérez Vinlöf a professional contract until 30 June 2027. The Swedish youth international, who's been at the German record champions since January 2022, will spend the forthcoming season on loan at Austrian Bundesliga side Austria Wien.
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director: "Matteo is an extremely hardworking, disciplined player, who established himself in our U23 team while still at U19 age and who has already made his first-team debut for us and been selected for Sweden's senior national team for good reason. For his long-term development, we've agreed with him a move from the FC Bayern Campus to the Austrian top flight. Along with Frans Krätzig, he'll be able to gain very good experience at Austria Wien. We're confident that Matteo will take the next step towards establishing himself in professional football."
Following his move from the Hammarby IF U17s, Vinlöf impressed enough for the Bayern U19s to earn a place with the reserve team, for whom the left-back has made 26 appearances (one goal, four assists). He made his professional debut in the 2-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena on the penultimate matchday of last season. Having represented his country at U17 and U19 level, he was called up for the Swedish senior team for the first time last month.
