Board member for sport Max Eberl: “In my opinion, we showed a good performance today. The first half was very good. In the second half, our attacking game wasn't quite as fluid anymore. Our commitment and the willingness to defend was good. That was a step forward. Therefore, it was a good test for us. We saw many positives and were able to learn many things."

Coach Vincent Kompany was pleased with his team's mentality against Spurs.

Head coach Vincent Kompany: “It's always good to win. It's still a friendly but we showed the right mentality. Most importantly, we took the next step. Now, we'll keep going. Our mentality is very good. Physically, technically and tactically we're getting the job done but we need every game. We have a team with many good players and are fully motivated.”

Eric Dier: “I'm satisfied. It's only the beginning with a new coach. It wasn't perfect but we did our best. We're trying to adapt to each other more and more and want to implement our coach's ideas better. It's all about evolving and further improving. We don't have much time left. On Tuesday, we play our next friendly and then it's on to the first competitive game. We'll be ready next week.”

Prior to the friendly against Tottenham, we spoke with Harry Kane about his start to the pre-season and working with Vincent Kompany. “Obviously, I've only been here for a few days but I love the energy he brings. I feel I'm in good shape. My back is  doing fine. I had problems towards the end of last season but it was fine during the EUROS. It hasn't bothered me since. I took my time and worked hard on it.”

We also met with sporting director Christoph Freund prior to the game in London and spoke about Bayern's pre-season. “There's a lot of energy involved. The lads are having fun with the new system and the new coaching team. You can really  see how things are moving forward. During pre-season, the players came back at different stages and we never had the entire squad at our disposal. However, we're on the right track and are experiencing a positive spirit. The training sessions are very intense.”
