Frans Krätzig is leaving FC Bayern for Red Bull Salzburg. The defender had initially gone out on loan to VfB Stuttgart at the start of last season and then to 1. FC Heidenheim in the Rückrunde. Now the 22-year-old is moving to the Austrian Bundesliga club.
Sporting director Christoph Freund: "Frans Krätzig was one of the first class of players to join the newly-founded FC Bayern Campus in 2017. He has continued to develop over the years, including becoming a Germany youth international and has now racked up over 20 Bundesliga appearances. He's yet another player who has learned his trade at FC Bayern and is now forging his own path in professional football. We wish him all the best."
After making a total of 35 appearances for the FC Bayern reserves (three goals, four assists), Krätzig earned a call-up to the German record champions' senior squad, for whom he made seven appearances (one goal). He then gained match practice at Austrian record champions Austria Vienna (17 competitive appearances, 1 goal), VfB Stuttgart (four appearances) and Heidenheim (18 appearances, 1 goal). In September, Krätzig made his debut for the German U21 side and to date has made three appearances in a Germany jersey.
