Bayern fans travel from all over the world to support their team at away matches, even if it takes them hundreds of kilometres through snow and cold. We want to get to know those who spare no effort or expense to see their beloved Bayern away from the Allianz Arena a little better, revealing the special stories of our away fans, their love and their passion for Bayern.
It was clear weeks ago that FC Bayern's last match of the season would be a very special one. Firstly, because this afternoon in Sinsheim would mark the end of a campaign in which Munich regained the trophy after a one-year absence. Secondly, because FCB legend Thomas Müller would be playing for his beloved club for the last time in his career. A day full of farewells and emotions that FC Bayern fans Margareta, Liman and Leon will remember forever. The family from Speyer in the Palatinate saw ‘their’ Bayern live in the stadium for the first time ever on Saturday – an experience for which no diversion was too far for the three of them.

Not because the journey from Speyer, almost 40 kilometres away, was complicated. Rather, because the three Bayern fans had bought a Hoffenheim season ticket especially to see the German record champions play at the PreZero Arena at the end of the season. “I'm 52 and today is the first time I've seen FC Bayern in the stadium,” said father Liman, who usually watches the Munich men's matches on television at home. Until the mid-1990s, he actually supported Karlsruher SC, who had a young, up-and-coming goalkeeper in their ranks at the time: Oliver Kahn. When the ‘Titan’, Liman's favourite player, moved on, his sympathy for the record champions spilled over to him. Since then, he has been a Red through and through.
The anticipation was also written all over his son Leon's face on Saturday before kick-off, that tingling before one of these very special games. “I'm really excited,” said the 12-year-old, who is particularly fond of dribble artist Jamal Musiala. He’s been cheering on the Munich team since he was little, and his red and white merchandise collection is correspondingly huge, having recently grown again with a signed jersey to mark the club's 125th anniversary. Together with his parents, he was looking forward to a football festival – and was not disappointed. Joshua Kimmich, Michael Olise and Co crowned the title-winning season with a 4-0 away win, and Müller said goodbye with three points. An all-round successful stadium debut for the family from Speyer, who hope to fulfil their next big dream in the coming season: to cheer as spectators at the Allianz Arena.
