Michael Olise scores in France win, Nicolas Jackson celebrates with Senegal

Three FC Bayern players were in World Cup qualifying action with their national teams on Friday evening. While Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano celebrated a 2-0 victory over Ukraine with France, Nicolas Jackson and the Senegalese side saw off Sudan 2-0.

Winger Olise set France on their way early, turning in a low cross from team-mate Bradley Barcola in the tenth minute. Les Bleus controlled the game in the first 45 minutes and sealed the victory through Kylian Mbappé’s late goal in the 82nd minute.

FCB defender Upamecano also played his part in ensuring that Didier Deschamps’ men kept a clean sheet as the French enjoyed a successful start to qualifying for next year’s tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Olise and Co are back in action on Tuesday (20:45 CEST) in Paris against Iceland, who also won their opening match against Azerbaijan.
