Internationals: Jackson scores, Ito wins, Minjae loses

Three FC Bayern players were in action for their national teams on Saturday. While Nicolas Jackson's goal helped Senegal to a 2-0 win over Peru and Hiroki Ito featured in Japan's 1-0 win over Scotland, Minjae Kim and the South Korean national team suffered a 4-0 defeat to Côte d'Ivoire. All three FCB players will compete with their teams at the World Cup this summer in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Jackson puts Senegal ahead

Striker Jackson put Senegal on course for victory in Paris with his opener just before half-time (41'). Following an attack down the right wing, the ball found its way into the centre, where our number 11 finished from close range. His teammate Ismaila Sarr sealed the 2-0 win early in the second half (54'). On Tuesday, 31 March (21:00 CEST), Senegal will host Gambia in Diamniadio.

Ito celebrates return to national team

Defender Ito turned out for the Japanese national team on Saturday for the first time in around a year. He played the first 45 minutes of the friendly in Glasgow and watched his namesake Junya Ito come off the bench to score a late winner (84'). On Tuesday, 31 March (20.45 CEST), Japan will take on the Three Lions, led by FC Bayern striker Harry Kane, in London.

Minjae Kim plays the full 90 minutes

Meanwhile, Minjae Kim and his South Korean teammates endured a sobering night of international football. Our number 3 played the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 defeat to Germany’s World Cup group opponents Côte d'Ivoire. The goals for the Ivorians were scored by Evann Guessand (35'), Simon Adingra (45'+1), Martial Godo (62') and Wilfried Singo (90'+3). South Korea’s next friendly is scheduled for Tuesday, 31 March. At 20.45 CEST, with Minjae and his teammates facing Konrad Laimer and Austria in Vienna.
