

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Luis Díaz (Colombia) – a Bayern Munich player – took to the pitch for his Round of 32 match at the World Cup. Read on to find out how the match unfolded.
Lucho played the full 90 minutes in the knockout tie against Ghana before making way for Jaminton Campaz at the start of stoppage time. Colombia dominated the encounter with the Black Stars from the outset and took the lead after 14 minutes through Jhon Arias, who found the back of the net following a cross from Luis Suárez. Los Cafeteros remained in control for the rest of the match; Luis Díaz came close to making it 2–0 on two occasions (56’ and 58’) and once again proved himself to be his team’s tireless driving force.

The FC Bayern forward was once again voted Man of the Match after the final whistle. Colombia’s World Cup campaign continues with their Round of 16 tie against Switzerland (Tuesday, 22:00 CEST) in Vancouver.
