FC Bayern Erlebniswelt marks stadium milestone

The Allianz Arena has been FC Bayern Munich’s home for ten years now. The footballing temple has become a top attraction of the Bavarian state capital – and not only on matchdays. To mark the milestone anniversary, the Erlebniswelt will feature a small special exhibition from 30 May, where visitors can relive the story of a pivotal piece of Munich sporting history.

This year is full of milestone birthdays for FC Bayern. However, it’s not only Franz Beckenbauer (70), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (60) and Gerd Müller (70) who are among the honoured – the Allianz Arena too is in a jubilee year. Beside the exhibition “Kaiser. Kalle. Bomber.”, which opened at the beginning of May, Germany's biggest club museum presents another special installation: visitors are guided through all the most significant happenings in the last ten years at one of the world's most beautiful stadiums.

Attention to detail lies at the heart of this small but richly-detailed exhibition: using exclusive film material and an illustrated timeline visitors can recall all the highlights in the ten years since the opening of the Arena in May 2005. The exhibition's focus is on the planning stage: an original architectural model, a sample of a façade panel and a replica of the foundation stone are genuinely historic items.
