- 17th victory in 18th Bundesliga match
- Damnjanović, Stanway & Bühl score for Bayern
- Munich extend lead in the table
FC Bayern Women beat VfL Wolfsburg 4-1 in Sunday afternoon’s top clash to extend their lead in the table. President Herbert Hainer saw the away side take the lead when Kessya Bussy scored in the 16th minute. Bayern upped the pressure in the second half and Jovana Damnjanović’s brace (54’, 56’) turned things around within minutes. Georgia Stanway (70’) and Klara Bühl (80’) rounded off the final scoreline.

Trailing at half-time
Munich got off to the better start and were in control at first. Their first chance came when Pernille Harder teed up Jovana Damnjanović, but Wolfsburg keeper Stina Johannes proved equal to the shot. Wolfsburg took the lead almost immediately afterwards, with Bussy on hand to make the most of a mix-up in the box when she slotted in from close range.
The match was more intense now, with Bayern upping the pressure and at times strangling the visitors with their possession, but they found no way through the solid defence. Klara Bühl raced to the byline and cut back for Momoko Tanikawa, whose effort went wide of the far post (38’). Just one minute later, Bühl squared for Damnjanović, who set up Linda Dahlmann, but the shot from 15 yards was cleared off the line (39’).

Damnjanović, Stanway & Bühl turn things around
Munich pushed for an equaliser after the restart and scored when Damnjanović blocked Johannes’ kick and slotted home. Bayern turned things around when Kett’s pinpoint pass found Damnjanović, who netted from close range (56’).
It was one-way traffic and Harder only had Johannes to beat but saw her lob saved after 66 minutes. Georgia Stanway put the game to bed when Tanikawa charged forward and set up the England international, whose low shot found the net with 20 minutes to go. Bühl scored her 50th goal for FCB ten minutes before the end when she initiated a move herself and released the charging Stanway, who saw her effort parried, but Bühl was on hand to fire home on the spin.

International break & DFB Cup match at HSV
A number of FCB players will be on national team duty during the international break before Munich return to action when they travel to face Hamburger SV in the DFB Cup quarter-finals on 11 March (kick-off at 18:30 CET). José Barcala’s team take on 1. FC Köln on 15 March (kick-off at 17:00).
