Tenth home win on the bounce in Europe's top competition, club record extended! FC Bayern Women celebrated a comfortable 4-0 victory over Juventus on Thursday evening in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Jovana Damnjanović (22nd minute) set Alexander Straus' side on their way at the FC Bayern Campus, with Pernille Harder (52'), Klara Bühl (73') and Alara Şehitler (82') completing the scoring in the second half.
The three points mean the Munich girls, who had already qualified for the quarter-finals before kick-off, now lead the Group C table with 13 points from five matches, one ahead of Arsenal. The two teams meet in a showdown to decide the group winners next Wednesday, 18 December, at Meadow Park (21:00 CET).

Straus: 'Our best performance'
"We performed the way we imagined today, both with and without the ball," said Straus at full time. "In the first half, we didn't find the spaces in behind as well, which we did better after the break. For me it's not just about goals, but about the overall performance and the way we present ourselves. I think we showed our best performance today. That's our style and that's how we want to play. I'm really proud of the team."
Gwinn: 'That just does us good'
"I think the game went exactly as we imagined," agreed Giulia Gwinn. "We were super dominant and confident – and did that over 90 minutes, finally. That just does us good. We had a lot of possession, dominated the match and scored four nice goals."
Good news for Kett
Franziska Kett returned to the Bayern Women squad after recovering from an ankle injury.

Damnjanović ensures half-time lead
After a period of feeling each other out at the start, the hosts became increasingly dominant as the game went on and took the lead with the first notable chance in the 22nd minute. Bühl fought her way past a number of opponents and curled the ball onto the crossbar from the edge of the area. The second ball landed with Harder, who was challenged at the last second, but Damnjanović was in the perfect place and netted the opening goal from close range. Just two minutes later, Bühl again got into a promising goalscoring position but goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin saved. Georgia Stanway then blasted a volley just over the target from around 20 metres, and so the first half ended with a narrow but deserved lead.

Three goals in second half
The match continued in a similar vein after the restart. Stanway fired over again from a corner in the 47th minute before Harder made it 2-0. Similar to the first goal, Peyraud-Magnin could only push out an effort from Bühl and the Dane poked the rebound over the line. After that, Bayern moved the ball and their opponents around well for long periods and built on their advantage. After a long ball out of the defence, the lively Bühl broke through and finished for 3-0. Straus' side weren't done there, as substitute Şehitler curled the ball into the corner after good individual play. It's the new German international's first goal in the Champions League.

Potsdam at home, then London
There are two matches of the year left for the German champions. Before the final UWCL group fixture against Arsenal, there's a home match against Turbine Potsdam in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga. Kick-off at the FC Bayern Campus is at 14:00 CET this Sunday, 15 December.
