Narrow half-time lead

The Munich Frauen quickly found their feet in Italy and put Juventus under pressure early on. A corner in the third minute almost produced an immediate breakthrough when Giulia Gwinn flicked on the delivery from the left. It fell to Georgia Stanway at the far post, but her shot was blocked from close range. Bayern finally made their dominance tell in the 17th minute, with a corner again providing the opportunity. As Juve failed to clear the danger, the ball eventually sat up for Gwinn, who headed towards goal for Dallmann to knock in from a couple of yards out. The hosts started to get forward more after the opening goal and were denied just after the half-hour mark when Lisa Boattin struck the post from distance as it remained 1-0 at the break.

Tight second period

Amalie Vangsgaard fired wide from a promising position shortly after the restart before Bayern retook control of proceedings. However, there was a lack of notable chances for a long time until Lohmann had a long-range effort tipped over the bar by Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. The Bundesliga champions then got their second goal from the resulting corner. Harder saw her first effort blocked by the crowd of players in the box but wasn’t to be denied again as she squeezed in the rebound for her fourth goal of the European campaign. Weronika Zawistowska was then given her Champions League debut in the closing minutes as Bayern took all three points back to Munich.
