Reaction to the win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
Alexander Straus: "I'm just happy. We deserved the win. We were the better team for virtually the whole 90 minutes. Hoffenheim are one of the best teams in the league. Nevertheless, overall, we controlled the game, we just have to work on our chances. But our development over the last few months makes me feel positive. I'm proud of the girls."
Sarah Zadrazil: "A cup match is always do or die. It was a deserved win today because we did our job well and played very dominant football, especially in the first half. The second half showed the depth in our squad and that substitutions can make the difference. That's why I'm proud of the team and excited about the draw."
Klara Bühl: "We're happy to have made it through to the next round. Hoffenheim are a very strong side. They also have a lot of tall players in the team, which makes them dangerous when it comes to set-pieces. But we managed well today to keep them well away from our goal. Overall, we were well in control."
Maximiliane Rall: "When I came off the bench, I really wanted to score the goal, and the fact that I managed to do that is just cool. We were very dominant in the first half. We imposed our game on them and had one or two chances to score. But Hoffenheim are a very good and dangerous team. After the opening goal, things got easier for us."
Reaction from the Hoffenheim camp
Nadine Rolser (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim coach): "We had plenty of good moments. The game was open right up to the end, which shows that we worked well defensively. Our pressing also worked for long stretches. We started the second half well, but conceding the first goal took the sting out of our game."
Katharina Naschenweng (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim defender): "Defensively, we did quite well until we conceded the first goal. After that, unfortunately, we couldn't get a grip on the game and we just didn't do enough up front. Now our focus is on the game against Wolfsburg."
