For the second year running, FC Bayern Women have been given the right to open the new league season, in 2023/24 known as the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga. Alexander Straus and his reigning champions will visit Freiburg on Friday, 15 September as they launch their title defence. Kick-off for the opening fixture is set for 18:15 CEST.
FC Bayern Women are also in DFB Cup action before the new Bundesliga campaign starts.
Big game on Matchday 6
Die Frauen have their first home game the following week when Köln visit the FC Bayern Campus. Matchday 4 (6-9 October) brings the first big game as Champions League qualifiers Eintracht Frankfurt come to Munich. Captain Lina Magull and her team then welcome title rivals and last year’s runners-up Wolfsburg on Matchday 6, which will be played between 3 and 6 November. The final game before the winter break takes Bayern to promoted Nürnberg on 15-18 December for the first such Bavarian derby in the Bundesliga.
New year against Hoffenheim
Straus and his squad then resume action in 2024 at home to Hoffenheim on 26-29 January. The Matchday 11 fixture completes the first half of the season. The Rückrunde commences the following week as Freiburg visit Munich (2-5 February). The second clash between last season’s top two is then earmarked for Matchday 17 (22-25 March) in Wolfsburg. The final day of the season is on 20 May as Bayern go to Hoffenheim.
