The FC Bayern Women have signed Natalia Padilla Bidas from top-flight Swiss club FC Servette. The 20-year-old striker has penned a three-year contract and she will initially go out on loan to FC Köln for the 2023/24 season. The Poland international born in Malaga won the Swiss Cup and was a Swiss League runner-up for FC Servette in 2023 scoring 26 goals in 26 games.
Important investment for the future
Francisco De Sá Fardilha, the technical director of Women's football, is convinced of the potential of the striker: “The signing of Natália represents an important investment for the future. We are confident she will become an exciting striker in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga, and we hope the loan to FC Köln will allow her to adapt smoothly and successfully to a new country and a new league.” Padilla Bidas is looking forward to her next step in development: "I can hardly put in words how excited I am ahead of the immediate future. I feel honoured to be on contract at FC Bayern – one of the biggest clubs in Europe."
The 20-year-old has already made 21 appearances for Poland scoring four goals and providing three assists. “Natália is a very talented forward who can not only play in the centre of the park but also on the wings. She is tall, fast, and agile, and she has a real killer-instinct in front of goal. Natália can shoot well with both feet and has great aerial ability,” said De Sá Fardilha in praise of the attacking strengths of the striker. Padilla Bidas describes herself as a player who "is fast on the ball, has good vision and loves scoring goals."
Very good technical and tactical ability
Padilla Bidas has also gathered experience on the European stage alongside her international caps. She made eleven appearances in the UEFA Women's Champions League with Servette. Francisco De Sá Fardilha has followed her career: “Her youth development in Spain equipped her with very good technical and tactical skills, which were honed in the last couple of years at Servette Chenois, one of the top clubs in Switzerland. This enabled her to become a regular starter for Poland from when she was only 18 years old. We hope she will help us to write many more successful chapters in the history of the FC Bayern Women’s team.”
