Goalkeeper Janina Leitzig is leaving FC Bayern Women for Leicester City in England’s Women’s Super League. The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester and has now joined on a permanent transfer.

Leitzig came to Munich from Hoffenheim in summer 2021 and made 21 senior appearances for Die Frauen, keeping 14 clean sheets. The Wuppertal native enjoyed a strong campaign during her loan at Leicester and was voted by fans and teammates as the club’s Player of the Season.
