Seven Bayern goals: successful international break

Seven FC Bayern goals in the international break! Matchdays 3 and 4 in the UEFA Women's Nations League were on the agenda at the end of October, with 12 FCB Women players in action for their countries. Here's an overview of the results of the two sets of matches.

Two wins for Germany

In Klara Bühl, Linda Dallmann, Giulia Gwinn and Lea Schüller, there were four FCB players in the Germany squad – and the Munich contingent provided five goals in the two wins over Wales and Iceland. In the first match under interim coach Horst Hrubesch, the DFB women celebrated a 5-1 victory over the Welsh, with Schüller opening the scoring and completing a brace to make it 2-1. Gwinn then netted the third goal from the penalty spot. In the meeting with Iceland, Bayern's German internationals came up against teammate Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir. After a 4-0 success in the reverse fixture, Germany won 2-0 in Reykjavik thanks to another penalty from Gwinn and a stoppage-time goal from Bühl.

Eriksson fires Sweden to victory

Magdalena Eriksson scored the winning goal against Switzerland.

Magdalena Eriksson and the Swedish national team claimed a 1-0 win over Switzerland on Matchday 3. And the FCB star had extra reason to celebrate as it was her fine header shortly before half-time that clinched the three points. In the second match of the international break, the Swedes took a point against Italy after equalising in the sixth minute of added time.

Damnjanovic scores for Serbia, Austria & Netherlands take maximum points

FC Bayern Women, Katharina Naschenweng, Austria

Katharina Naschenweng enjoyed two wins over Portugal with Austria.

Jovana Damnjanovic and the Serbian national team faced a double header against Poland. The first fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat, with the FCB striker reducing the deficit for the Serbians. In the return clash, the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.

Two games against Portugal and two 2-1 wins for Katharina Naschenweng, Sarah Zadrazil and the Austrian women. The Bayern duo played every minute of both games as Austria moved above Portugal in Group A2 and into second place.

Jill Baijings and the Dutch team also celebrated a pair of wins against Scotland. The Bayern player was in the squad for both games but didn't feature.

Norway, meanwhile, took on favourites France twice. Hansen was not involved in the 2-1 defeat in the first match, but came on in the 78th minute of the return to help her side earn a 0-0 draw.

Blows for Iceland

Viggósdóttir and the Icelandic national team suffered two defeats, losing 1-0 to Denmark and 2-0 to Germany. The Bayern and Iceland captain played the full 90 in both games.
