The final month of 2023 has begun! While FC Bayern Women still have two Bundesliga fixtures plus two UWCL matches to focus on before Christmas, plans for the start of the new year have already been made. Head coach Alexander Straus' side will begin their preparations for the second half of the season in the first week of January. fcbayern.com gives you an overview of the team's winter schedule.
Winter training camp in Alicante
Just one day after the start of training on Saturday 6 January 2024, which will include the performance diagnostic tests, FCB Women are off to Alicante for a winter training camp from 7 to 13 January. In ideal conditions under the Spanish sun, the Munich girls will be able to prepare in the best possible way after the winter break and further strengthen the already great team spirit.
Busy start to the year
Following an intensive period of preparation, Straus' side face some tough assignments at the start of the year, playing in three different competitions in the space of about a week. First up is a trip to Kickers Offenbach on the third Sunday of 2024 in the DFB Cup round of 16. Kick-off is at 14:00 CET on 21 January. That's followed three days later by the UEFA Women's Champions League return fixture at AS Roma. That one kicks off at 18:45 CET on Wednesday 24 January.
To round off a busy week, Bayern Women resume their Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga campaign. The home fixture against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has not yet been finalised but will be played between 26 and 29 January. The team are in midweek action again the following week with the final UWCL group game at home to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday 30 January, which kicks off at 21:00 CET.
