Although they won the 2023/24 Google Pixel Bundesliga, FC Bayern Women were unable to crown a truly great season by also lifting the DFB Cup, after a 2-0 loss in the final to Wolfsburg. “Despite the defeat, our fans kept singing for more than 10 minutes after the game. That was really very emotional. I’ve never seen anything like it. Their support has been incredible at all of our games,” said head coach Alexander Straus. The sold-out stadium and the support of the travelling fans made the final in Cologne an unforgettable experience – despite the defeat – that the Munich ladies want to get a taste of again next season and bring the cup back to Munich. Trophy handover at Hoffenheim
Bayern’s last game of the season sees them play away at Hoffenheim on Monday (3.30pm CEST), after which they will be presented with the Meisterschale for the sixth time in their history.
